Peters township rolling hills park10/28/2023 ![]() ![]() The teen entries were all retellings of classic Greek and Norse mythology, all with strong female characters. May offered a workshop in March to help participants prepare for the contest. Library staff member Elizabeth May coordinated the contest, entered by ten tweens and three teens. The contest’s theme was “mythic fiction,” in conjunction with the library’s NEA Big Read Grant featuring the novel Circe by Madeline Miller. Site work is currently on-going with anticipated completion of the park facilities for opening by Memorial Day 2022.Throughout April, the Youth Services Department accepted submissions for a unique writing contest for tweens and teens. The design includes a 3,600 SF Public Works Maintenance Building with a four-bay garage and wash bay, a large pavilion, three smaller pavilions, a public restroom building, two artistic pieces for display on the Great Lawn, and observation decks. The park was planned and designed in coordination with the municipality’s long-range park & recreation comprehensive plan to provide additional recreation facilities and programs other than sports fields, and is being constructed on the former Rolling Hills Country Club property, adjacent to the school district’s new high school currently under construction (designed by HDG/WMF).Īs a subconsultant to Mackin Engineering Company, HDG is providing architectural services for design all of the buildings and park site features. This project includes a master site development plan to convert 98-acres of golf course into a community park.
